Classic Coconut Chutney
Soft, cooling, and deeply comforting — this traditional South Indian chutney brings
together coconut, roasted gram, and a hint of spice. A timeless companion to dosas,
idles, or steamed vegetables.

Prep Time: 5 minutes | Yields: 1 cup
Ingredients
• 1 cup freshly grated coconut
• 2 tablespoons roasted gram (chutney dal)
• 1 green chili (adjust to taste)
• ½-inch ginger piece
• Salt to taste
• ¼ cup water (adjust as needed)
Tempering (optional):
• 1 teaspoon coconut oil
• ½ teaspoon mustard seeds
• 1 sprig curry leaves
Method
1. Blend: Add coconut, roasted gram, chili, ginger, and salt to your BlendWel
Grinder. Blend until smooth, adding water gradually for desired texture.
2. Temper: Heat coconut oil, crackle mustard seeds, and add curry leaves. Pour
over the chutney for aroma and flavour.
3. Serve: Best enjoyed fresh with idlis, dosas, or vegetable rolls.
